DataX2 – print ad

Here’s a print ad we made back at Ogilvy. Singtel was about to launch a DataX2 plan, where with a nominal fee you could double up your mobile data. During our research we looked into old boxing posters for some inspiration and came up with this idea – The Fight For Your Data Stops With DataX2.

Brazil World Cup – poster design

Took me a while to upload this small piece here. I was really into the works of super talented and mysterious SilenceTV for the last couple of months. The amount of details he is putting in his art is incredible. We even ordered a couple of his large format posters (here) to investigate how he does his magic.

Here is a poster I created around Brazil World Cup 2014. Below you will also find a small video that I put together to show you the whole process from start to finish.

Gravity poster

The first project of 2014 goes to Gravity! Here is an alternative poster for the movie, which I liked so much. This time I decided to leave the idea pretty simple and work a lot on the details, as you can see on a close up shots below. Took me about 1 week to finish.

Design Marathon (Day 23) – the Dude

It’s Day 23 on the Design Marathon calendar. I’m experimenting with a new style. Forcing myself to use only Illustrator. Here is my new poster I put together during the last week – “the Dude”, inspired by “the Big Lebowski” movie.

Design Marathon (Day 22) – Star Trek poster

It’s been a busy week around here, with all the graduation activities and paper procedures. (Graduation photo post is coming pretty soon, need to process the film first). Here is a small poster I made on my free time in the past couple of days.

I’m happy to announce my self-initiated “Star Trek Into Darkness” poster. Loved the movie, what a great vibe! When I saw the last scene, I thought: “That is totally gonna end up as a poster.” So here it is!
This time I challenged myself to use as less elements as possible and keep everything very simple. I limited the color palette to 3 colors as well.

Played around and made a vintage, more minimalistic variant of the same poster:

Super rough first idea sketches, as you can see I ended up forming a Starfleet emblem out of Enterprise engine trails:

Design Marathon (Day 19) – Dead Calm

With all these pre-graduation projects, Chinese exams and stuff it feels crazy around workshop these days. Here is a poster I put together after taking HSK (Chinese proficiency) test. If you liked this poster, feel free to download it as a desktop image for your computer or iPhone, iPad. Enjoy.

for Akira Kurosawa

Here is my small tribute for a great Japanese filmmaker – Akira Kurosawa. That’s been a while since I came up with an idea for this poster, however today, seems like a perfect day for executing it. Happy 103 birthday, Kurosawa-san!

The poster was made around the “7 Samurai” anime.
